History

In 1833, as part of a broader policy to promote Western medicine and education, traditional channels of Indian health modalities, including the practice and teaching of Ayurveda, were sidelined

Support for Ayurveda returned as India regained its independence in the mid 1900s, and Ayurveda’s full revival in the early 1980s can be largely credited to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a great Vedic master and spiritual teacher

Dr. J.R. Raju was the personal Vaidya (doctor) to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and played a vital role in not only re-awakening the knowledge of Ayurveda within India, but also introducing Ayurveda to the rest of the world through extensive international teaching tours
